How to Add Solana to MetaMask?

I keep seeing people ask how to add Solana (SOL) to MetaMask. From what I understand, MetaMask only supports EVM-compatible chains (ETH, Polygon, BSC, Arbitrum, etc.), and Solana runs on a totally different architecture.

So, there's no way to natively add Solana to MetaMask, right? Only workaround I've found is wrapping SOL as an ERC-20 (like wSOL) and using it on Ethereum, which isn't the same thing. Otherwise you need a dedicated Solana wallet like Phantom or Solflare.

Am I correct here, or has MetaMask finally figured out a way to integrate Solana in 2025? Would love to hear if anyone's actually using it together.

Honestly, you're 100% correct. MetaMask is EVM-only, so Solana won't just "add" like Polygon or BSC. The wrapped SOL thing is a messy workaround—fees, bridges, total headache.
BUT! In 2025 there actually IS a MetaMask Snap for Solana (literally called "Solana Snap"). It's still kinda buggy and feels like using a wrench to hammer a nail. Phantom or Solflare are just... better. Native seed phrase, instant transactions, no weird hacks.
I tried the Snap for a week and went straight back to Phantom. Sometimes the right tool is the right tool, ya know? 🛠
